Flagler, Colorado

Pictures will come maybe tomorrow....but we are here in Flagler, Colorado. The guys sat for almost a full week waiting for the rains to quit. It rained every evening after having georgeous sunny days...until Friday. They have been working steady since then. To all those that thought Keith might get bored...you were wrong. He is loving it...every field is different. The wheat yield here is much better than Kansas.  For those of you who look up on the map...they are cutting up in Cope yesterday and today. Cope is north east of Flagler....and I drove up there to take supper to them. In a 26 mile stretch I counted 9 houses...and there is a sign on that road that says "No snowplowing from 7Pm- 5AM"...can you imagine living with that much space between your neighbours!!!You certainly would have privacy. Enjoyed the church that we went to here...SO friendly. I don't think we got out of there the first Sunday without anyone not introducing themselves to us. Made us feel very welcome. It's a good practice for every church to adopt don't you think?? In this town the school has a indoor swimming pool that is open all summer to the public....so I have enjoyed that very much. I made a list of all the books we have read...and trying to jot down things I'm learning. I am on my 9th book. Some have been very challenging! keith has read 3 so far. Ok...so that is my update for today. Will try to get pics up soon.

Goodland Kansas

Good morning all, We arrived here in Goodland...or at least the trailers have. They "roaded" the combines and cart the 80 miles, so we expect them here by noon. We are now camped out at a campsite...along with other harvest crews right beside a truck stop on the side of the interstate. There goes our solitude and quietness..BUT... we do have free internet here. I hope to get a bunch of harvest pics up for y'all to see...and maybe if you have skype you can check out when I'm on...keithheatherburns. It is expected to get up about 105 degress over the next few days...that is hot! The guys won't be starting to cut until the 4th...so we have a few days to R&R??? Maybe I will work on my tan some more. We have 1000 acres to cut here and then we travel to Flagler, Colorado.(straight west of where we are)  I'm not sure how much we have there to do.After that stop we will be driving up toFort Benton, Montana and will be there till mid August.(apparently usually do about 18000 acres there). So that's it for now...may work on the pics this afternoon(Keith has the camera with all the harvest pics)
